Vintage 1966 mimeographed script of Claws–Claws of the Eagle, Claws of the Jaguar by Lee Baxandall, adapted from the single surviving pre-Conquest Maya drama Rabinal Achí.
This scarce stapled script reflects Baxandall's 1960s radical theatre work, when he translated and adapted politically engaged plays for grassroots performance groups. The drama draws on Maya traditions of the Eagle and Jaguar warriors, presenting themes of conflict, captivity, and ritual.
