A latch pin, which is stored in the hook’s body, can lock the safety latch securely into place for a true Closed Loop System
- ABOUT CLOSED SYSTEM WINCHING: Is a winching technique using rigging comprised entirely of closed link hardware. The non-closable opening of common winch hooks prevent hooks from qualifying as secure closed links. Poorly constructed sheet metal safety latches of hooks do not qualify as a secure means to contain loads and are prone to failure, especially during momentary slack conditions where winch loads often shift and apply high forces to these weak non-structural latches.
- ABOUT THE EPDM RUBBER PADS: Integrated finger grips promote proper “Hook Up” orientation. UltraHook is the first winch hook that can be stored neatly against a winch’s fairlead protecting it from a metal-to-metal connection, thanks to EPDM rubber pads, which also eliminate the UltraHook from rattling.
