Vintage Blue Spongeware 11-Inch Serving / Mixing Bowl.
This is a beautiful, substantial piece! At 11 inches across and weighing almost 5 pounds, this large bowl makes an excellent centerpiece or fruit bowl. It features a charming hand-painted band of pink hearts and green leaves on a white background, framed by a classic, mottled blue spongeware (spatterware) pattern. The rim has a lovely, deeply ruffled (scalloped) edge.
This style is highly characteristic of East Texas Pottery and is often associated with the highly collectible Marshall Pottery from the 1980s-1990s.
