Mark Twain's The American Claimant, 1892

An antique edition of The American Claimant by Mark Twain. Published in the year of the first edition by Bernhard Touchnitz, Leipzig. Copyright 1892. The book is labeled a Tauchnitz Edition, Vol 2863. Complete in one volume. The book may have original been a softback and rebound in quarter-green leather with marble cover boards. The marble paper is missing near the center of the lower cover edge. There are four ribs on the backstrip with gilt lines. The title block on the backstrip is red with a gilt title. "1892", is inscribed on the lower backstrip in gilt. The leather is worn near the upper right back cover and backstrip connection. The endpapers are blue and there is an ex-libris sticker. There are erased numbers on the title page that are still visible. They are along the right margin of the title page. The pages are soft, white and intact throughout. The pages have slight mild tanning. Size: 6.15 x 4.5", 271 pages.
