This is a beautiful soft Red Velvet evening purse by Bobbie Jerome. The trade mark appears inside on the heavy fabric sateen fabric when opened. I could not find any other red velvet bag in the Bobbie Jerome pictures or illustrations. The evening bag was probably manufactured in the very early 1950s. This bag was never used and has the original packing materials inside along with the original change purse and small original mirror. This bag has been in storage and never seen the light of day until we started downsizing in earnest.
This will be a stunning bag to carry this fall or around the holidays. I doubt if there is another one in existence. This bag shows no age on the gold appearing clasp or any age on the red velvet, It appears to be a "one of" beautiful vintage creation.
