Vintage Russian Kholuy Lacquer Box – Hand Painted & Signed
Beautiful hand-painted Russian lacquer box from Kholuy (Холуй), one of Russia's renowned lacquer miniature art centers. The lid features a detailed scenic composition titled "Sever" ("The North"), depicting flying birds over a traditional village landscape with churches and forest.
Most likely late Soviet to early post-Soviet (1980s–1990s) based on style, signatures, and stamp format.
The box is hand painted and signed in gold by the artist V. Anfimov, with additional Cyrillic markings indicating execution in Kholuy. Finished in classic black lacquer with a vibrant red lacquer interior.
