Whats the rarest variety of Garnet in the world? Well it depends who you ask. One of the three possible choices for that title is undoubtedly the Iridescent Rainbow Garnet from the now closed Kohse Mine, Tenkawa Village, Nara Prefecture, Japan.
This garnet is an Andradite Garnet from a tin mine. It has an outermost layer coated in oxidized tin that creates this rainbow iridescence. No other locality has ever produced Garnets like this.
Metaphysically speaking Rainbow Garnet is the stone of potentiality. It is a powerful activator of the first two chakras. This helps one in being more grounded in the present moment. It enhances ones ability to really feel each moment as it passes by. It will make life feel more visceral. Its energy is very earthy and bright. It helps one to see the untapped potential in all things.
